Symbolism in stories

Symbolism is the most common way to express more than what words can. For instance, a character in a movie might drive in a very old car, symbolising his/her place in society: the working class. This can also be contrasted by another character who arrives in an expensive luxury car. Symbolism in any story is important. It can also include houses, clothes, and even language a character might use. Keep note of interesting ways a character is different to others in a story.
